The first annual Fall Fury includes short track, cross country and downhill riding through St. George’s Zen trail on October 17-18, 2014. The Fall Fury is also the Collegiate State Championship for Utah.
The cross country course is an intermediate technical trail; about 1000 ft of climbing with a 6-mile loop. The trail will go up and down Zen and come out on the double track road, some categories will repeat. The downhill will be shuttled up the Zen Mesa and come down on rocky DH fun. The short track will loop the power plant and will be very fast and enjoyable. Participants can choose which races within the Fall Fury they want to do. Want to do short track and cross country but skip downhill? No problem! You choose what you want to do!
Take the Dixie Drive I-15 exit in St. George and turn west. Head down Dixie Drive and turn left at Canyon View Road, heading uphill toward the Green Valley Spa. (One Dixie, if you reach the Green Valley Market with gas station, you just passed Canyon View Road. Turn around and look for it on your right.) Drive past the spa, onto dirt at the end of the road. Turn right at the top of the mesa, then immediately left to drive down into the deep valley. Head for the big road that goes up the bluff, on the right side of The Gap -- the sandstone canyon. The event will be on the left just before that road starts to climb.
Start times and categories are subject to change as field sizes get bigger. Please note, $10.00 processing fee added to the registration total for all participants to cover insurance and other fees.
Day of registration and packet pick-up opens at Rapid Cycling (946 W. Sunset Boulevard in St. George) at noon on Friday, October 17th and will also be available on October 18th at 7:00 AM at the race course.
